biography

Tony Vasary started playing bass around the age of 16 following a beautiful friendship with brothers Niko Ar Beleg and Seb Ar Beleg. Passionate about this instrument, he worked tirelessly on his own until founding his first band with Niko Ar Beleg : Pictured (melodic death metal).

After a while he decided to continue his path towards other horizons and over the years met various musicians with whom he shared his passion for music. The creation of the group Gengis (thrash death metal) finally allowed him to lay down his grooves on a first DEMO, then an album Down To a Sunless Sea.

Wanting to become a professional, he subsequently met Xavier Quémet (Bounty Hunter) and Ian Proërer (Red Cardell) with whom he has shared numerous stages since 2019 in the 'hard rock' cover band What a Mess!, allowing him to now devote himself full time to music.

Based on Xavier's compositions on guitar and vocals, they founded the southern rock band Gunsmoke Brothers Band, which was joined by the Ar Beleg brothers on guitars and Thibault Menut on drums. After a concert tour, their first album, Band Of Brothers,  was released in 2024. A second album, Ballad of a Desperado, is in production and will be released in 2026.

At the end of 2025, tony joins the alternative/prog rock band sweet monsters.

"For a long time I had been using my old Fender, unbreakable but it is very heavy and I needed to find a lighter solution for the future with of course a better sound.

That’s when I saw Genzler with Nate Navarro. After learning about the equipment thanks to him, and Andy Irvine’s videos, I was immediately seduced by the principle of Bass Array cabinets. I bought the Magellan 800 and the BA2 115-3SLT + BA2 210-3STR cabinets.

I was very surprised by the clarity and neutrality of this head. Without doing anything, it sounds magnificent! It perfectly reproduces what you send it, your instrument, and your playing. No cheating. The contour knob allows you to give 2 colors to your sound, and more by using the equalization!

The cabinets are a marvel both visually and in their design, light, powerfull, punchy and reactive sound, lots of clarity to break through the mix, and hear yourself perfectly on stage thanks also to the inclination of the BA2 115-3SLT. It’s a dream come true!

Your way of playing is the main thing as a musician, and with Genzler, there is something magical that makes you rediscover and sublimate yourself.
